RBC Canadian Open comes to town

RBC Canadian Open
The Canadian Open along with the best field in living memory will be teeing off at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club Monday July 18 through Sunday July 24. Practice rounds and pro ams are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the real stuff starts Thursday.

The Fan Zone will be located near the entrance to the golf course and will be the site of exhibits, displays and other items of interest, including the opportunity to get your photo taken with the RBC Canadian Open trophy. The displays and photgraphy opportunity will be in the Golf Canada membership tent

Spectators will be shuttled from parking lots at UBC to the golf course and back. On Tuesday or Wednesday, between noon and 4 PM, stop by the BC Golf House, at the corner of 10th Ave and Blanca Street just as you enter the University Lands, in the morning and have your photo taken with the Seagram Gold Cup, emblematic of the Canadian Open title back when the last Canadian to win it was Pat Fletcher in 1954 at Point Grey Golf and Country Club. Not only was Pat Fletcher was the last Canadian to win, he was, at the time, the first Canadian in forty years to win our national championship. For more information call 604-222-4653.
